Funded by the Contributions of Scottish Business

At Scottish level, funding is provided by sponsors from a number organisations such as BAA Scotland, BP, Lloyds Register Educational Trust, Opito and Shell. This pays for the network's small and tightly focussed Central office function, as well as its full range of Young Engineers Club services. These include the Young Engineers Clubs Scotland web-site, a network co-ordinator, sponsor-driven Challenges with cash prizes, a newsletter and the prestigious Celebration of Engineering. At local level businesses will make their own sponsorship of individual Clubs.

Young Engineers Clubs Scotland sponsors are closely involved in the implementation of the network's programme. As well as providing a high degree of financial accountability, the level of sponsor involvement also helps keep the network in close contact with the ever-changing requirements of the engineering sector. Scottish Sponsors are encouraged to be involved in the running of the initiative.

The administrative hub of the Young Engineers Clubs Scotland is provided by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI), based in Glasgow. Headed by Project Manager, Jane Martin, SCDI- and staffed by a marketing and administration team, SCDI is responsible for co-ordinating the activating the activities and growth of the Scottish network, providing the Clubs with the background support they need to go on fostering their students' interest in science, engineering and technology. Young Engineers Clubs Scotland, through the creative and enterprising application of science, mathematics and technology, shows students that engineering is a dynamic and rewarding career.

"The Young Engineers Clubs Scotland initiative is an excellent way of introducing young people to the joys of engineering and to its potential as a future career. Scotland needs top engineers and there is no better place than school to stimulate interest in engineering. We are delighted to be part of this worthwhile and valuable project" Young Engineers Clubs Scotland sponsor
